here and there.. so just cope with me. enjoy!
Hi everybody,
Here's the shorter, shorter, shorter version of my experience, could you
place this on your pages if possible?!? Thanx!
Hi everybody!!!
I just want to let you guys know that there is a dutch fan of 98
Degrees
here in Holland and who also got the chance to meet them!
My dad has been training this whole year to go do the New York Marathon
Nov 1, in October, asked my dad as a joke,:"yeah, can I come to New York
too?". My dad then replied:"maybe I can arrange something for you to
come",I could come,I was thrilled as this would be my first time in New
York! I was still being up to date with 98 Degrees news through
internet
and read that the new album would be out on 27 oct(I arrived on the 28
oct), I also checked their shedule to see if they would be in New York
when I'm around, but they where only around on the 28th in Long Island,
I
tried to ask my dad if I he would let me go to New York earlier but he
was afraid that I would have troubles going through customs and all in
JFK Airport alone. So there was only one hope and that was to see them
in Connetticut,Hartford,Farmington on the 29 oct. On the shedule page
it
said that that day was a Boo bash and signing but no store name or
address so I sent an e-mail to manager Paris D. Jon and asked him about
the signing in Connetticut, he kindly mailed me back and I also did
some
research and printed out this map of the place where the record store
would be which was Strawberries Music and Videos.
I was so excited and couldn't think of anything else, I also didn't
know
how to get to Connetticut and I didn't even tell my dad that my 2nd day
in New York I wanted to travel alone to Connetticut!
In JFK Airport,I wandered around, I went upstairs where I zoomed into
the magazinestore and looked around and to my surprise I found the
PopStar! Mag,so I quickly bought two copies, these were the first
things
I bought!!!
In the Warwick Hotel, I got to read the mag and was so excited to what
the big day will end up to be!
The big day, I had no idea what time the signing would begin so i had
to
leave early, I did know that the trip would take me about 2 hours so I
really had to leave soon. Once I told my dad what my plans he let me go
even though he had doubts about me going on my own. Once outside,, few
steps from our hotel was a Coconut Record and Video Store,so i rushed
in
and bought the 98 Degrees and Rising album and the single of Because Of
You.
At Strawberries, they had big signs hanging outside the window.I was
the
first fan to arrive. I decided to wait inside the store so I can be
first in line in case there would be a million fans showing up all of a
sudden. I was sitting on the floor while employees put a table down and
had bottles of water and markers ready. Eventually girls started to
enter the scene and started quing behind me.At the back of the store
was
a room for "Employees Only" and it opened twice to reveal the
guys, everybody screamed their lungs out! The guys came and walked to
the
table and their big black bodyguard stood in front of the line to keep
it in check. He let me go first as I was infront, I laid my pics, album
and single sleeves on the table and stood in front of the guys, they
all
greeted me with a "Hi" and shook my hand and introduced ourselves.(left
to right:Jeff,Justin,Nick,Drew)Jeff asked me what my name was again and
signed the big free pic, while the other guys were asking me questions,
I
told them that I came over from holland cause my dad was going to run
the marathon and I also thought it was a shame they changed their
shedules which involved not visiting Holland and Nick replied that he
felt the same way too,Nick also asked me if I was british cause of the
accent.Jeff asked me if have listened to their album but I told them I
just arrived and and just bought the album that day,Justin asked me
which song I liked on the 1st album and I told him Invisible Man. The
all signed my stuff and shook hands and said goodbye but I still wanted
to take a photo with them but the girls behind me already jumped in
front of me so I waited till it got less busy.I jumped back in line
again and now wanted to get a chance to have a photo taken with them.
Once I was back in front again,Drew asked me:"What's up,Alex?" and I
asked the guys if I could take a photo with them and they were kindly
to
say: "yeah, sure". I kneeled down between Justin and Nick and a lady
took
a photo. I thanked the guys again and shook their hands and Nick told
me
to spread the news about them in Holland and I told him I will and
left.
They are great guys!I was completely happy and wanted to go back as
soon
as possible to the hotel and listen to the album.
I want to say "thank you" to 98 Degrees and manager Paris D.Jon and
"keep up the good work!" and I want to say "Hi" to all the fans of 98
Degrees out there!
98 Degrees rulez 4-Ever!
Alex Wong
Thanx for putting me on your page,I have a photo taken with the guys,if
anybody wants a copy please e-mail me about it!!! I can only send them
through snail-mail!!!
bye
