hong kong and other parts of the world. but it wasn't all fame and glory. it made them experience the taste of showbiz. they went into uncomfortable situations, trying to fit in with the black urban culture... which was NOT easy at all. they recorded the notorious song called; can i touch you there? to my impression, there were several loss of fans and not-so-good credits to their reputations. the pres. of motown records was worried, so they changed their position to more safe and secure base, the Universal Records. [motown-related] in the summer of '98, they were finally settled and ready to record their soon-to-be-smash-hit-album; 98* & Rising. they released their 2nd single; because of you. (which in doubt, was a great start for them.) at the end of october, they released the album and became a multi-platinum in states, canada and asia. they grow more and more each day with their incredible talent in music and the fan base extends bigger and bigger. now, they have three smash hit singles, multi-platinum album, a grammy winning-nomination, a collaboration w/ the likes of mariah carey and stevie wonder.. and i think to myself.. what can go wrong? well, there is that feud between the fans/teenyboppers and the anti-boyband people. it's either you support them that they are a boyband or not. you love them or hate them.. the opinions really matters on your thoughts and beliefs. i personally think the opinions on this mere topic is just a waste of time when there are other political situations that is way more necessary and important to be discussed about than fist-fighting, swearing and trashing about what sucks and what not. the world is so self-concious on whats cool and in these days. you are prejudged on what choice of music you listen to and everybody has stereotypical ideas toward not just boybands.. but every political issues around the world. so stop with harsh criticism and learn to deal with your intelligence. xxx webmaster
